What we collect

When you enquire: your name, email address, telephone number, the country you are travelling from, your dates, party size and whatever you choose to tell us about the trip.

When you use the trip planner: the answers you give it and the itineraries it produces, stored against a reference so a consultant can pick the conversation up later. You do not need an account and we do not ask for your name to use it.

When you book: the same, plus the traveller details a hotel or an airline needs. Card details are handled by PayHere and never reach our servers.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not run third-party analytics that profile you across other websites, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.

Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry, to plan and operate your trip, and to meet the record-keeping obligations a licensed Sri Lankan travel agency has.

We will only email you something that is not about your own trip if you have asked us to — the newsletter is the one example, and every issue has a one-click unsubscribe.

Who else sees it

The hotels, guides, park operators and transport suppliers on your itinerary see what they need to deliver their part of it, and nothing else.

PayHere processes payments. Our email is hosted by a third-party provider. Neither uses your information for anything other than providing that service to us.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings: two years, then deleted.

Bookings and the financial records attached to them: six years from the end of travel, because tax law requires it.

Planner itineraries not attached to an enquiry: kept only while they are among the most recent generated, then discarded automatically.

Your rights

Email hello@travika.lk from the address we hold and ask for a copy of what we have, a correction, or deletion. We will do it and confirm in writing, usually the same day and always within thirty days.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the rights that come with the GDPR, including the right to complain to your national supervisory authority.

This is our own plain-English drafting rather than boilerplate, which makes it readable but does not make it legal advice. Travika (Pvt) Ltd, 14 Bagatalle Road, Colombo 03, Colombo, Sri Lanka. SLTDA licence number pending.
